LNP Shadow Cabinet Deputations

Community members will be deputised into the Liberal National Party (LNP) for a shadow cabinet.

LNP member for Glasshouse, Andrew Powell, has invited a number of deputations including:

For Mr Ted Malone MP, Shadow Minister for Families, Housing and Communities (including Child Safety, Disability Services and Volunteers). Mr Powell has constituents who would like to discuss the lack of post school funding for children who have graduated from special schools on the Sunshine Coast. Parents of children with disabilities are going from 30 hours of schooling services through the education system to nothing within the disability sector.

For Ms Fiona Simpson MP, Shadow Minister for Transport and Main Roads. Cr Adrian Raedel, Moreton Bay Regional Council, will be meeting with the Shadow Minister to discuss desperately needed funding for safety upgrades to the D'Aguilar Highway.

Cr Raedel has welcomed the opportunity to take his concerns for drivers of the D'Aguilar Highway to Shadow Cabinet on Monday.

For over three years we (the community) have been asking for something to be done to fix the D'Aguilar Highway.  There has been a petition, a rally and a blackspot submission all of which has brought the plight to the attention of the state and federal Government.

"At my election I promised to lobby and push the need to upgrade the D'Aguilar Highway," Cr Raedel said. "We've seen enough deaths and trauma on this road, if I have to go to the opposition in the hope they form the next Government then thats what I'll do."

The shadow cabinet will be held on Monday, 13th February, starting at 11.30am at Lake Kawana Community Centre, Sportsman's Parade Bokarina.

If you would like to arrange an interview with Andrew and the constituents on the day, please call the office on 5435 2013 or Andrew's mobile 0401 015 502.
