Seventeen-year-old Benjamyn Hazelton, of Caboolture, is planning to hug his way into the world record books at this year’s Urban Country Music Festival and raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation.
Benjamyn is expecting to break the Guinness World Record for the most hugs performed by an individual in an hour and he’s set himself the task of reaching 1,400 hugs – or just under 24 hugs a minute.
He’s currently working out the logistics to carry out his attempt on Sunday, May 1, at the festival.
For every hug that is made, a gold coin is to be donated to the Leukaemia Foundation.
