ANZAC Day services started early around the Moreton Bay region yesterday morning. Ignoring the heavy rain, hundreds of people turned up at the various services to pay respect to our war heroes.

Adverse weather forced a number of services in doors, this didn't dampen the enthusiasm of participants. From Woodford to Redcliffe, people of all ages turned out.

Division 12 Moreton Bay Regional Councillor, Adrian Raedel, said the participants pride shone brighter then the breaking sun.

“The weather held off for just long enough to reflect on the sacrifices of those in past and present theatres of war,” said Local Divisional Councillor Adrian Raedel. "400 people turned out at the Woodford service to pay tribute".

Federal LNP member for Longman, Wyatt Roy, attended several ANZAC services during the day.

"Everywhere I went the crowds were as big or bigger than previous years," Mr Roy wrote on Facebook. "The ANZAC spirit is very much alive and well in modern Australia..."
