Ski Boat Fire - Somerset

Police are investigating a marine incident on Somerset Dam this morning.


Initial information is that a ski boat caught fire around 8 injuring five people.  All five, three adults and two children, were initially taken to the Kilcoy Hospital.

Three of the five, a 2-year-old child, a 9-year-old child and a 30-year-old adult, have received significant burns and are expected to be transferred to Brisbane for treatment.

The boat has been towed ashore and will be examined.

The Sunshine Coast Water Police will be investigating.
