Pedestrian killed at Kallangur

A 79-year-old Kallangur man critically injured at Kallangur this morning has died in hospital.

Preliminary information suggests that around 6.25am a utility travelling west along Anzac Avenue collided with a power pole knocking it over.

A male pedestrian was then struck by the falling pole. He was transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with critical injures.

The occupants of the car, the 20-year-old male driver and his male passenger, were not injured. Both men are from the Kallangur area.

Investigations by the Forensic Crash Unit continue.
