Sewer Upgrade at Mango Hill

In order to help safeguard the environment by preventing sewage overflows, and to cater for future population growth, Unitywater will be upgrading the sewer network in the Mango Hill area.

This scheduled works program involves the construction of new gravity sewers and manholes near a temporary sewage pump station on Freshwater Creek Road, Mango Hill. On completion of these works, sewage will be diverted to a new pump station, currently being constructed at the end of Maryvale Road, which offers improved capacity to help safeguard against sewage overflows.

Once these works are completed the temporary pump station will be decommissioned and removed and Unitywater will restore the affected areas.

These works, to be carried out by a Unitywater contractor, commenced in mid-May and will continue for three to four months. No interruptions to sewerage services are expected.

Local residents may notice increased traffic and associated noise as these critical upgrades are undertaken. To minimise impacts on residents, most work will be conducted between the hours of 7am and 6pm Monday to Friday, although Saturday works may also be scheduled if required to meet the project’s timelines.

Access for these works will be primarily via Freshwater Creek Road.

Unitywater thanks customers in advance for their patience and understanding as this necessary program is conducted to further protect the environment and cater for future growth.
