Be part of Caboolture’s cultural revolution

Be among the first to volunteer at the Hub complex and be part of creating a dynamic cultural heart in Caboolture.

Moreton Bay Regional Council Deputy Mayor and Division Three Councillor Greg Chippendale said volunteers were needed to help the new library, art gallery and learning centre become a treasured community venue when it opened at the end of the year.

“This is the first opportunity for interested community members to put their hands up to help in this marvellous new visionary building,” Cr Chippendale said.

“Whether you’re keen to try being a guide for the art gallery, be involved in installing art exhibitions or helping with launches and art events, there’s a role to suit you.

“We’re also looking for people with reception, retail and customer service skills. Other volunteer roles include library administration, collection maintenance, searching catalogues, literacy tutors, IT tutors, support for kids activities, homework tutors, story telling and genealogy support.”

To register interest, fill out an application form available at council’s libraries, museums, galleries and administration centres as well as the Bribie Island Community Arts Centre, the Woodford Museum and Arts Centre and the Artisan’s Guild of Deception Bay.

The first round of Hub volunteer registrations will close at 5pm on July 30, 2011.
