Sources close to Shane Moon, previously an LNP candidate for Pumicestone, have said he is seriously considering running for Mayor of the Moreton Bay Region.
"The current Mayor, Allan Sutherland, and challenger Chris Whiting are destroying each other," the source said. "None of this is serving the community in any good way, something needs to be done and it's looking like Mooney is about to step up to the plate."
When contacted, Mr Moon was non-committal and admitted he could be toying with the idea.
"All the options for my political future are on the table, but a business opportunity may change things," Mr Moon said.
