Federal Member for Longman, Wyatt Roy has today congratulated Mount Mee School Principal Trevor Buchanan for his nomination as a finalist in the Australian Primary Principal of the Year awards.
Mr Buchanan is a finalist in the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership Award category of Australian Primary Principal of the Year.
Mr Roy said that he is not surprised that a local school Principal had received the prestigious nod.
“Mount Mee Primary School is a fantastic local school that contributes much to our community. It is no wonder that Principal Buchanan should be recognised for the way he has inspired students and leads the school,” said Mr Roy.
“The new Australian Awards for Outstanding teaching and School Leadership provide an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the nation’s most talented, innovative and inspirational school teachers and leaders,” said Anthony Mackay, Chair of the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership, which managed the Awards for the Australian Government.
