Expand your e-reading

Just in time for the summer holidays, Moreton Bay Region Libraries members can now access 1,500 eBooks and 600 eAudiobooks for free.

Mayor Allan Sutherland said titles by popular authors including Peter Corris, Nicci French, Jodi Picoult, Matthew Reilly and Bryce Courtenay were among the library’s eCollections.

“Our eBooks and eAudio books can be read and listened to with a whole range of new media, so if you’re already handy with an iPad, mobile phone or tablet device, these will expand your reading world for free,” Mayor Sutherland said.

“If you’re an avid reader, imagine the space you’ll save by downloading some reading material and not having to pack a stack of books into the summer vacation suitcase.

“It’s just a matter of visiting our library website, using your library card number and pin and downloading the material you want to borrow.

“If you’re a bit nervous about using the new technology, there’s no need to be. Our libraries are running free information sessions to help you get started and details of these sessions are also available on our library website.”

The eBooks and eAudiobooks, which can be read and listened to with iPads, iPods, mp3 players, computer tablet devices or mobile phones, cover popular fiction titles for all ages. There are also biographies, travel books, true crime, self help and science books.

All Moreton Bay Region residents are eligible to be library members. Ask at your local library or find out more on council’s library website at www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au/libraries
