Remains Found In Drum Could Be Human - Caboolture
POLICE are unsure how long it will take to determine whether remains found in a 44-gallon drum at the weekend are human.
A Police media spokeswoman said the drum was found in the Caboolture River at Rocksberg, about noon on Saturday.
She said the drum and its contents were taken by police for further examination, but did not know how long tests would take.
A State Emergency Service worker said crews from the Redcliffe and Caboolture SES units helped police to retrieve the drum from Rocksberg which was believed to have contained remains.
The worker said the drum was discovered earlier in the day by members of the public walking along the riverbank.
The SES member said ``many strong hands’’ were needed to retrieve the drum, and volunteers worked with police on Sunday to search the bank where the drum was found for further clues. Quest News
