Public Transport For Labour Day Long Weekend

TransLink is encouraging customers to plan their journey on public transport this Labour Day long weekend.

TransLink spokesman Andrew Berkman said most operators would run a Sunday timetable on Monday, May 2.

“There are a few exceptions so I encourage customers to familiarise themselves with altered bus, train and ferry timetables that will be in place for the public holiday on Monday,” Mr Berkman said.

“Extra buses and trains will run to Suncorp Stadium for tonight’s game between the Brisbane Broncos and the Canterbury Bulldogs,” Mr Berkman said.

“Additional buses have also been organised for rugby league fans travelling to Skilled Park on the Gold Coast for the Titans vs Roosters game on Saturday afternoon, including express Roma Street to Beenleigh.

“League fans holding a pre-purchased game-day event ticket can travel free to and from the venue on trains and Brisbane Transport buses from noon until last service Friday night for the Broncos game, or trains and Surfside buses from 1.30pm to 11.30pm on Saturday for the Titans game.

“Customers travelling across the weekend should be aware that buses will be replacing trains on the Beenleigh line between Dutton Park and Beenleigh stations from the first train on Saturday, April 30 to the last train on Sunday, May 1. Delays up to one hour may occur.”
