Joy Leishman has stepped down from her role as Chair of the Strategic Business Reference Group - North East Business Park (NEBP) to concentrate on her family’s business interests.
Mrs Leishman has led North Harbour’s Strategic Business reference group for the past three years and has been instrumental in driving both strong business and community support for the $760 million project.
“I’ve enjoyed enormous family support in my time in local government and in the past three years and it’s time for me give them my full attention in return,” she said.
“I am such a believer in North Harbour and all it will bring to our region, and I will continue to support this project and push to see it become a reality.
“I am disappointed that the project has been delayed due to ongoing litigation with the Moreton Bay Regional Council but I look forward to seeing an approval that allows it to deliver jobs, facilities and lifestyle improvements for the Caboolture region,” she said.
NEBP CEO Jeff Smith said Mrs Leishman had been an energetic and enthusiastic ambassador for the North Harbour project.
“Joy’s insight and extensive business network have been major factors contributing to the successful communication of the vision of North Harbour. Joy’s continuing support and that of the broader community have been very much appreciated”
“The Board of Northeast Business Park Pty Ltd respects her decision and wishes her well for the future.”
