The Queensland Labor Government is progressing the Morayfield Road four-lane upgrade (from Uhlmann Road to Gaffield Street ) by allocating funds for the commencement of major construction in this year’s State Budget.
State Member for Morayfield, Mark Ryan MP said Morayfield Road was a major arterial road connecting the Bruce Highway at Uhlmann Road with Caboolture via the commercial centre of Morayfield.
“Rapid development in Burpengary and Caboolture means that Morayfield Road now carries between 21,000 and 28,000 vehicles each day – this is a significant volume,” he said.
“I have been tirelessly lobbying the State Government for the upgrade of this road and I am very pleased that $10 million for the commencement of major construction works later this year has been confirmed in the 2011-12 State Budget.
“This funding and the commencement of major construction works is just the next step in the progression of the important road infrastructure project,” Mr Ryan said.
“I am focussed on delivering real results for the people of the Morayfield State Electorate and, accordingly, I am thrilled that funding has been confirmed for the commencement of the Morayfield Road four-lane upgrade project (from Uhlmann Road to Gaffield Street ).”
