An information morning next month will give potential volunteers an insight into the vibrant new arts and cultural scene planned at the Hub in Caboolture.
Deputy Mayor and Division Three Councillor Greg Chippendale said work was progressing behind the scenes to make sure the new Hub complex was ready for a grand opening in December.
“We’re looking for dedicated volunteers to help us make sure the Hub, with its library, learning centre and art gallery, operates smoothly once it is open,” Cr Chippendale said.
“It’s going to be a state-of-the-art venue hosting exhibitions that will help nurture a whole new cultural scene in the heart of Caboolture.
“We’ll be holding a special free information morning from 10am on Thursday, October 13 at Level 3, Reception Room 2, 2 Hasking Street, Caboolture for residents to find out exactly what is involved and the sort of volunteering roles we’re looking to fill.”
Cr Chippendale said the Hub was particularly looking for volunteers who would be able to help out in the Hub shop – which would sell a range of items connected to the various aspects of the complex including arts, craft, books and gift ideas.
“We’re hoping to hear from people who’ve worked in retail before or who think they would enjoy working in a shop.
“We’re also looking for volunteers to help at the gallery, whether it’s helping with exhibitions and workshops, or acting as guides.
“If you can’t come to the information session, but you are keen on volunteering, then please fill out an Expression of Interest form which is available by calling council on 3205 0555 or visiting council’s website at www.moretonbay.qld.gov.au”
