Bribie Hazard Reduction Burns

Two bushfire hazard reduction burns are expected to be conducted on Bribie Island on Wednesday, September 21, weather permitting.

The two sites are:
  • 10 hectares next to Fairway Drive, Woorim. North of the Woorim Golf Club.
  • 2.5 hectares at the Verdoni Street Park, between Verdoni St and Sunderland Drive, Bellara.
Moreton Bay Regional Council is conducting the burns in conjunction with the Queensland Fire and Rescue Service, Department of Environment and Resource Management and SEQ Water.
Asthmatics and residents susceptible to respiratory illness are advised to stay indoors, keep the windows and doors closed and block air vents. Use a filtered air conditioner to circulate air and keep medications nearby.
