Funding available for local sports clubs

Carryn Sullivan, State Member for Pumicestone encourages local sports and recreation clubs to put in an application for the State Government’s Sport and Recreation Active Inclusion program.

Mrs Sullivan said the program is providing $3.5 million to help local clubs provide people of all abilities and backgrounds access to sport and recreation.

Organisations can apply for funding under two categories – Healthy Eating and Physical Activity, and Community and Club Support Projects.

“Local clubs can apply for funding of up to $40,000 to undertake projects that increase access to sport and recreation in the community or promote healthy eating,” Mrs Sullivan said.

“Everyone should have the chance to get involved in sport and this program is about making sure every Queenslander can. It is also about helping Queenslanders get and stay active and become the healthiest people in Australia.
