Floating Walkway, Beachmere

Floating Walkway
Carryn Sullivan MP, State Member for Pumicestone joined locals in welcoming a new floating walkway for Beachmere.

The floating walkway, built by the Queensland Government rises and falls with the tide and provides fishers with a great new fishing spot and help boaties get their boats in and out of the water.

“It’s great to see this walkway open and already being used by locals,” said Mrs Sullivan “it’s a very good addition for our boaties and fishers.”

“I’ve had really good feedback about the walkway – especially from boaties who no longer have to bash their boats on the rocks while they go and get their trailers.”

The new walk way took around four weeks to build at a cost of around $350,000.

Mrs Sullivan toured the new walkway at the Beachmere boat ramps Saint Smith Road with Beachmere local Mal Dwyer.
