on winning the People’s Choice award at the
recent Youth Art Awards.

A young Morayfield artist whose drawing has a photographic quality, has taken out the People’s Choice award at the Moreton Bay Regional Council organised Youth Art Awards.
Fourteen-year-old Natasha Maciejewski, who attends year nine at the Australian Christian College at Caboolture, entered a pencil drawing of a pair of Rosellas, beating more than 350 other exhibits as the people’s favourite.
Division 12 Councillor Adrian Raedel, congratulated Natasha, who lives in his division, on her win.
“Natasha is one to watch. She took up drawing when she was 11 and she has already claimed a few art prizes and is an exhibiting junior member of the Queensland Wildlife Artists Society Incorporated,” he said.
As People’s Choice winner Natasha has picked up a trophy, certificate and a timber box for her art materials. Her Rosella picture also won her second place in the 2D Year 8 to 10 section of the Youth Art Awards.
The annual Youth Art Awards this year attracted more than 50 schools with students vying for a share of more than $4000 in prizes.
