Officers injured, Kippa Ring

Four officers have been injured, including one who has been taken to hospital following an incident at Kippa Ring this afternoon.

Initial information indicates police attended an address at Dalton Street, Kippa Ring when a vehicle allegedly reversed at speed, hitting the four officers. Initial advice is that three officers received abrasions and one received back injuries.

It is believed the vehicle then sped out of the driveway, hitting a number of vehicles including several police cars.

The vehicle has then allegedly driven from the scene, colliding with another vehicle before hitting a power pole.

Police were able to detain a man and a woman from the vehicle, who are now assisting them with their investigations.

Ethical Standards Command has been advised and is investigating the incident.
