Calling all buskers, bush poets and Beaut Utes #4OURnews

Whether you’re a busker, a bush poet or you have a Beaut Ute, it’s time to use the Christmas break to start planning your entry for 2012’s Urban Country Music Festival.

Mayor Allan Sutherland said online entry forms for the festival’s Beaut Ute competition, buskers, Voice of Urban Country talent search and bush poetry competition were now available for those who liked to get in early.

“You’ve got to be in it to win it, and if you already know you want to have a shot at some of this year’s festival competitions then why not enter now? At the very least you could check out the competition requirements.” he said.

“Time has a habit of slipping by, and it’ll be May before you know it.”

“The Voice of Urban Country talent search in particular is a great way for rising stars to get themselves some recognition and this year it will be offering a recording and promotional package valued at around $2,500 to the winner.

“Our busking comp has a first prize of $500 up for grabs.”

To plan your 2012 Urban Country experience from Friday May 4 to Monday May 7, or download some entry forms, visit the festival website at www.urbancountry.com.au and click on “getting involved”.

To keep up to date with all Urban Country news, subscribe through the website to the festival’s e-newsletter or follow the festival on Facebook.

Artists for this year’s ticketed concerts will be announced mid January.
