Letter To The Station: Lagoon Creek
Where does the buck stop ? Where is the accountability? Who'll put up their hand and take responsibility? A few months ago, in the local press, there were photos of smiling politicians and councillors slapping each other on the back and promoting what a good job done in gaining and allocating tax payer and ratepayer funds to the opening of the Lagoon Creek Cafe at the P C Y C at the back of Caboolture. Because basic proceedure was not followed , this cafe has recently had to close. Who will take responsibility . It appears that there is not enough water pressure in the area for the fire brigade to sign off on certain vital safety documents. The cafe should never have opened with out this being done. Unity Water is aware of this problem , and has plans to upgrade the pipes in the area over the next few months. Surely, in the general process of things, a talk to town planning would have uncovered this before tax and rate payer funds were given to this project , and as a safety aspect what thought given to lives that may have been lost due to lack of water pressure in the area. Rodney Hansen . Rate Payer group . Caboolture.
