Funding for building works at Morayfield State High School

State Member for Morayfield, Mark Ryan, has welcomed news of more than $17,000 in funding for Morayfield State High School as part of the Queensland Labor Government’s Special Building Needs program.

Mr Ryan said the funding would enable the school to replace the fibro fire main to the northern end of the administration block, including the replacement of four valves.

Mr Ryan said he was delighted the government was able to provide this funding boost through the Department of Public Works’ Special Building Needs program.

“The Special Building Needs program was developed in addition to existing maintenance programs to provide extra funding for projects that arise in the course of the year or are unable to be completed by the school because of the cost,” he said.

“This funding demonstrates the Queensland Government’s commitment to maintaining public infrastructure for the benefit of the community.

The work will be programmed for completion as soon as possible, with every effort being made to minimise disruption to the day to day running of the school.

QBuild – the State Government’s construction and maintenance division – will manage the project.
