Letter To The Station: MSHS School Reunion Shoutout

Teased fringes, permed hair and colour-changing t-shirts!  Having skipped their 10 year reunion, students and staff of the Morayfield State High School class of 1992 will soon get their chance to embarrass former classmates with photographs and stories from days gone by.

A 20 year reunion will be held for students and teachers from the year 12 class of 1992 (and the year 10 class of 1990) at the Centenary Lakes Function Centre on Friday 16 March 2012 from 6.30pm.  The event will be ticketed at $45pp including food, entertainment and several lucky door prizes.

One of the organisers, former student, Michelle Lember, said it had taken a bit of work to pull it together but has been pleased with the response to date from classmates, including a number now living as far as New York, Germany and South Africa who plan to attend.

"Facebook has been a fantastic tool for spreading the word and for tracking people down", said Ms Lember, " However we are also relying heavily on word-of-mouth to get the message out there".

Fellow classmates, Byron Cronin and Emma Cox (nee Anderson) said they are looking forward to attending the event and to rekindling old friendships.

Mr Cronin, now a teacher himself said "Time passes so quickly that it will be good to pause and reminisce."

Organisers encourage the community to have former staff and students contact them at mshs92reunion@gmail.com or the "MSHS Class of 92" group on Facebook.  Michelle Lember can be contacted on 07 5495 1499.    The committee are also seeking photographs, old uniforms for display on the evening, and information regarding those who have passed for a memorial on the evening.
