Toorbul War Memorial Damaged by An Out Of Control Driver

Upcoming Anzac Day services at Toorbul have been thrown into disarray, with thousands of dollars of damage caused to the recently refurbished War Memorial by an out of control driver Friday, April 1st.

Fortunately, refurbishment of the War Memorial in 2010 saw the installation of a brick wall which ultimately saved any damage occurring to the actual granite and stainless steel memorial feature. However, in addition to the brick wall, one flagpole has received significant damaged and will also need replacing.

The driver is expected to cover all cost for damages. Repairs are not expected to be completed until after ANZAC Day services this year.

ANZAC Day services taking place at Toorbul on April 25 will not be interrupted.
