Community Grants Offered And Explained

Learn if your idea, community project or event is eligible for Moreton Bay Regional Council’s community grants funding.

Mayor Allan Sutherland said council would be holding workshops at locations throughout the region in July to explain the grants to community and sporting groups.

“The multicultural Reinbo All Nations Gathering, a kindergarten needing a rainwater tank, an archery group needing shelters, community garden projects, and a walk to raise awareness of dementia were just some of the successful applicants in the last round of funding,” Mayor Sutherland said.

“If your idea for a program or project responds to community issues or will improve community facilities, you may qualify for council funding assistance.”

The mayor said there would also be money available for events that showcase the region and encourage local celebrations and tourism. Individuals could also obtain financial assistance if they were achieving at a national or international level in arts and culture, sport and recreation, the environment or academia
