Six youths were arrested for obstructing police and public nuisance after a disturbance at a large party in Eatons Hill overnight. 

20 Youths in Altercation with Police at the Morayfield Shopping Centre

About 8pm police responded to a report of a male youth causing a disturbance at a Morayfield Shopping Centre.

The disturbance continued and the 16-year-old youth allegedly became involved in a physical altercation with a male constable as he attempted to take him into custody in relation to a public nuisance matter. 

During the altercation the officer was knocked to the ground and was assisted by security personnel and members of the public. 

The boy has been charged with one count each of serious assault police and contravene a move on direction as well as two counts of public nuisance. 

He will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justices Act.

Police appeal for assistance to help locate missing boy

Update: Police have located a missing 14-year-old boy who was reported missing from Deception Bay earlier this week.  

He was found safe and well earlier this morning.  

Police would like to thank members of the public and the media for their assistance in this matter. 

Police are appealing for public assistance to help locate a 14-year-old Deception Bay boy who left home on January 22. 

Michael Buckley was last seen by police on January 23 at the Chermside bus interchange.  

He is described as being Caucasian in appearance, around 165cm tall with a heavy build, long afro-style brown hair and green eyes.  

He was wearing a pink t-shirt, a silver baseball cap and black skate shoes and was in possession of a black and silver scooter when he left home.  

His family holds concerns for his wellbeing as he has not made contact with them.

Burglary charges, Kallangur

Police have charged a 16-year-old Burpengary male youth with a number of offences including burglary with violence after four homes at Kallangur were allegedly broken into overnight.

Police are investigating an incident in which a youth sustained a cut to this neck at Deception Bay on January 21. 

Clandestine laboratory located, Wamuran

UPDATE: Drug charges, Wamuran 

Police have charged two local men following the discovery of a clandestine laboratory at a property at Wamuran.  

Just before 7pm, police executed a search warrant at the Sampson Road address and allegedly discovered a clandestine laboratory and firearms.   

A 30-year-old man was charged with six offences including one count each of producing a dangerous drug and unlawful use of a motor vehicle and two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon.  

Another 30-year-old man was charged with one count each of producing a dangerous drug, possessing a dangerous drug, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon.  

Both men are due to appear in the Caboolture Magistrates Court today.

INCREASING ROAD TOLL AND BACK TO SCHOOL - PLAY IT SAFE ON THE ROAD (Video)

With the State's road toll currently double what it was at the same time last year and school returning for 2012 this week, motorists are being encouraged to be extra vigilant in a bid to save lives on our roads. 

Police Minister Neil Roberts said 18 people had lost their lives on Queensland roads since January 1, nine more than at the same time last year. 

"To have had 18 people lose their lives in the first 21 days of the year is tragic," Mr Roberts said. 

"Each death also has an enormous impact on the family and friends of the deceased. 

"I strongly urge all motorists to do everything they can to avoid further tragedy on our roads. 

"Drive at or below the speed limit; never drive under the influence of alcohol or drugs; don't drive tired; always wear a seatbelt; concentrate on the road; and drive to the road conditions." 

Mr Roberts said that with school returning for the New Year this week, it was vital that motorists took extra c are around school zones. 

"From this week, hundreds of thousands of school children will again be walking, running and playing around schools, including an estimated 60,000 children who are going to school for the first time," he said. 

"Young people can behave and act unpredictably, that's why it's so important for motorists to be extra vigilant around schools." 

Police Commissioner Bob Atkinson said the Queensland Police Service would be out in force in school zones this week. 

Officers will be targeting: 

• School zones, including speeding offences in 40kmh zones 

• Parking and no standing zone offences in relation to the drop off and pickup of children at schools 

• School crossings 

• any other offences detected around schools. 

"Police make no apology for enforcing the road rules on Queensland roads, particularly when it comes to school zones where young people are particularly at-risk," he said. 

Commissioner Atkinson said the QPS also urged parents to park in designated areas to ensure that children are not put at risk by walking out onto roadways between parked cars. 

"Parents should also familiarise themselves with school drop-off and pick-up practices and discuss with their children rules for school zones," he said. 

"Following the directions of school crossing supervisors, and allowing a little extra time for your trip because of the increase in traffic around schools, will go a long way towards ensuring the safety of children on their return to school." 

All children should also wear an approved safety helmet when riding a bike, always use pedestrian crossings and stop to look before crossing the road. 

Parents also should to take the time to educate their children in the basics of road safety, particularly children starting school for the first time. 

Fatal traffic crash, Bells Creek

A 21-year-old Kallangur woman has died following a single vehicle traffic crash at Bells Creek near Beerwah this afternoon. 

Break and Enter, Caboolture

Police are investigating the break and enter of a Caboolture newsagent early this morning in which glass doors were smashed with a hammer to gain entry.
