Council Takes to the Water

WOODFORD Community Swimming Pool will be operated by Moreton Bay Regional Council for the 2011-12 summer season.

Division 12 councillor Adrian Raedel said the current managers of the pool had decided to end their agreement with council for personal reasons.
"I want to thank the current managers for their commitment to the Woodford Community Pool over the years and I think I speak for the local community when I say they'll be missed," Cr Raedel said.
"But despite the departure of the management team, the transition to a council run operation is expected to be seamless.
“Council isn't plunging into Woodford Pool with its eyes closed either - we already operate the Bribie Island Aquatic Leisure Centre as well as the Caboolture Swimming Pool."
Moreton Bay Regional Council is also developing a Regional Aquatic Strategy so being hands-on at the Woodford pool will give us an even greater understanding of operational issues and costs.
The Woodford Community Pool is scheduled to reopen in September for the summer season.
