Beachmere Lake Work

Reconstruction and realignment of the Beachmere Lake retaining wall has been given the green light by the Moreton Bay Regional Council.

Mayor Allan Sutherland said a $289,000 tender had been awarded for the project with consultation also held with affected residents.

“Over a number of years the existing retaining wall has been failing through lateral pressure and that's caused the soil behind the wall to shift and in some cases completely wash away in heavy rain.

"The work about to get underway at Beachmere Lake continues council's commitment to the sustainability of a local community asset." 

Construction works will be monitored to help minimise any impact on local residents.
