Letter to the editor - Darren Grimwade LNP Candidate for Morayfield - Chris Whiting's leaked email.

Dear Editor,
There are many local residents who have been upset by comments made about Morayfield and Caboolture.

Politicians should be the last to mock the people who voted for them, because they have the power to change the lives of their constituents - hopefully for the better.

Candidates and representatives could spend their time better by talking to residents instead of making fun of people who are struggling.

There are a lot of hard working, decent residents in our area. I’ve lost count of the number of community-minded residents I’ve met who are helping those who are homeless and disadvantaged.

Last month I was proud to march in a rally at Morayfield supporting the National Disability Insurance Scheme. This will help many families struggling with the financial costs of family members with a disability and that’s the reality many local families have to bear.

Recently reported comments, if they were a joke, weren’t very funny.

I am proud to be part of the community I live in. I think that these latest statements undermine and sell short just what a wonderfully spirited community we have in Morayfield.

Darren Grimwade
