Smart Savings at Home

Learn to use less energy and water at home and grow cheap food at a free workshop this August.

Moreton Bay Regional Council’s sustainability spokesperson and division six councillor Rae Frawley said the CREEC Environment Centre at Rowley Road at Burpengary would host the free Living Smart Savings workshop from 9am to 11.30am on Saturday, August 13.

“Find out how to cut your household bills at the same time as lessening your impact on our environment,” Cr Frawley said.

“There are plenty of tools, hints and rebates available which will help you on your way to cheaper, greener living.

“You’ll also be able to pick up some tips on how to develop a vege patch so that you can grow your own food.”

Cr Frawley said while the workshop was aimed at adults, supervised children over 12 were also welcome.

“We’re expecting this free Saturday workshop to be quite popular, so bookings are essential to secure your place,” Cr Frawley said.

“Attendees will be given a free native plant starter pack as an added incentive.”

Bookings may be made by phoning council on 5433 2122 during office hours.
